Growing evidence has identified multiple benefits of arts and creative practices forÌýhealth and well-being. These offer significant scope for behavioural changeÌýinterventions and patient activation and empowerment. However, in Latin America,Ìýessential gaps in basic knowledge and awareness reduced the potential positiveÌýimpact of arts on brain health.

Based on the expertise of the Global Brain Health Institute at Trinity College Dublin,ÌýIreland and the Latin American Brain Health Institute at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez,ÌýChile, we have created the Creative and Arts Intervention Network Latin America. ThisÌýnetwork aims to support projects and online communities promoting the use of art toÌýimprove brain health and create support for vulnerable communities. The seminar willÌýintroduce the network and present recent emerging projects using arts to improveÌýbrain health in different populations and discuss how we can promote and co-developÌýart-based understanding, awareness, and education for brain health.

Professor Agustin Ibanez
Director of the Latin American Brain Health InstituteÌý(BrainLat), Universidad Adolfo Ibanez, Chile and SeniorÌýAtlantic Fellow, Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI),ÌýUniversity of California San Francisco (UCSF), USA.
