Go Abroad Week Event Schedule

Please see below for the full listing of Go Abroad Week events which will be hosted by members of the Study Abroad team. At the bottom of the page, we will be adding additional sessions which will be hosted by UCL's partner universities to help you in your university research, so do keep an eye out for those!

With the exception of the Go Abroad Hub, please register with your UCL email address via Eventbrite for all sessions you plan to attend. To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you arrive five minutes early to any in-peron events as room capacity will be limited.

Introduction to Study Abroad | Roberts Building 106 | 1 - 2pm

Interested in going abroad during your time at 911±¬ÁÏÍø? Whether you are preparing to undertake a study abroad placement as part of your academic programme in 2025-26 or you'd like to pursue a short-term opportunity outside of term time, join us for an overview of the opportunities available to you and how the Study Abroad team can support you.

Putting together a successful study abroad application (Part 1 of 2) | Microsoft Teams | 5 - 6pm

In this first part of two application-related sessions, we'll share guidance and advice on curating a successful study abroad application and what to consider in your university research process.

This session is relevant for students from all UCL departments who are preparing to go abroad in 2025-26. The session will take place online and an access link will be sent to all students who register on the afternoon of the event.

Short-term Global Opportunities at 911±¬ÁÏÍø | 188 Tottenham Court Road, Room 04 | 1 - 2pm

In this session, we will be sharing information about all of UCL's exciting opportunities to go abroad outside of term time! Join us to find out more about the types of short-term placement, the types of funding available and how to apply.

This session is relevant for all undergraduate and PGT students at 911±¬ÁÏÍøho are interested in pursuing a short-term mobility.

Funding your Study Abroad Experience | Microsoft Teams | 5 - 6pm

During this session, we will take a look at the tuition fee structure for semester and year-long study abroad placements, costs that you will be responsible for whilst abroad, funding opportunities and managing your budget living whilst abroad. We will also provide an overview of tuition and maintenance loan arrangements through Student Finance.

This session is relevant for students from all UCL departments who are preparing to go abroad in 2025-26. The session will take place online and an access link will be sent to all students who register on the afternoon of the event.

Learn from the real experts; those who've walked in your shoes! Join our wonderful Study Abroad Widening Participation Ambassadors who have recently returned from their placements abroad. Our ambassadors will share their experiences abroad and their top tips for navigating the study abroad process.

Putting together a successful Study Abroad application (Part 2 of 2) | AV Hill Lecture Theatre (Medical Sciences and Anatomy) | 5 - 6pm

In the second part of our two application-related sessions, we'll share an overview of deadlines and steps for the central application process, putting together a strategic application and tips for making your answers stand out.

This session is most relevant for students from departments who will be apply through the central study abroad application process in 2025-26. If you're unsure on your application route, please check with your departmental study abroad tutor.
