Before you apply
Please note that our scholarships are only听available to applicants wishing to undertake a Master's degree in the Department of Security and Crime Science. We cannot award funding to students wishing to study in other UCL departments or at other universities.听听
For MSc applicants, there are a number of scholarships/bursaries available, both through the Department of Security and Crime Science 补苍诲听. Please read all of the information below very carefully before filling in any application forms.
Please make sure that you have applied online to one of our听MSc programmes听in addition to submitting your application for a scholarship/bursary. If you have not applied to one of our MSc programmes, your application听will听not be considered.听 We also cannot consider awarding a scholarship/bursary to an applicant if we have not made them an offer听of a place to study.听
If you defer your place, or if you are a modular-flexible student and decide not to take any modules in your first year of enrolment, then we cannot defer your bursary to the following academic year and you will need to apply again.
SCS Bursaries (open to all MSc applicants)
Bursaries applications for 2024-2025 entry have now closed.听
For 2024-2025听entry, the Department of Security & Crime Science (SCS) will offer a number of bursaries of up to听拢10,000 to outstanding applicants who have been offered places on one of our MSc programmes听(these bursaries are not open to applicants for PG diplomas or certificates).
If you would like to be considered for an SCS bursary, please fill in an application form 补苍诲听return it via email. If you have any questions about your application, then please听contact us via email.
The deadline for consideration for these bursaries is Tuesday, 30听April听2024.听
You must听ensure that your online application for the programme you wish to study is completed by the deadline.听This includes making sure that your referees have submitted their references by this date (if your programme requires references), as UCL Admissions do not consider an application to be complete until this has happened. The Department of Security & Crime Science will not be able to make any exceptions.
All applications will be considered after the deadline and we aim to inform applicants of our decision within six weeks. You will hear from us directly via email - this communication is entirely separate from any communications you receive from UCL Admissions and your offer letter for a place on the programme will not state whether or not you have been awarded a bursary or scholarship.
Please be aware that applications for bursaries and scholarships are very competitive听and we recommend that all applicants investigate other sources of funding, such as alternative听.听
Please note that we will be unable to听help unsuccessful applicants听find alternative funding.
Postgraduate loans
If you are applying for a postgraduate loan through the Student Loans Company, please ensure that you check the eligibility of the course that you are applying for. You can find the information through 听
The modular/flexible route is not eligible for the postgraduate loan and the department has no plans to add a part-time option to our courses.听
