UCL Open programme: new learning and development opportunities for staff in term 3
23 March 2012
Providing staff with access to effective and high-quality professional development remains a cornerstone of UCL's HR Organisational & Staff Development (OSD) team's mission.
New courses and the Open Programme
The Open Programme is a rolling yearly programme of learning and development activities provided centrally by UCL and available to all staff. Details are published at the start of each academic year and offer you an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in areas such as leadership and management, personal effectiveness and coaching and mentoring. We also provide specific and targeted development for Research staff, such as presentation and networking skills, and our Think Write series: writing quality papers, a peer review, book or conference abstract.
A recent review of the Open Programme, taking account of feedback from colleagues, identified some gaps in our provision. In response to this we are therefore offering development in the following areas in Term 3:
- Assertiveness
- Chairing Meetings
- Conflict Management
- Leadership and Management
- Project Management
- Resilience and Resourcefulness
- Strategy Development
Along with these new offers we will continue to offer some of our most popular programmes, such as Breakthrough Conversations, Getting the Best out of People, Introduction to Project Management and our Leadership and Management Programme modules.
Dates and further details for all Term 3 events will be published on the 16th April, so if you are interested in attending please make a note of the date to look at our website and book your place.
