Description
Module Aims:
This unit will introduce you to the realities of the construction industry and its processes and to the technical aspects of the building process.
It will also introduce you to the managerial and professional aspects of running construction projects and to the managerial and professional aspects of running a construction organisation.
Objectives:

To consolidate and underpin the academic concepts and knowledge acquired by the student during Year 1 and Year 2 with evidence of practical application.

To enable you to contextualise academic learning acquired in Year 1 and Year 2, and to prepare the student for the integrative nature of the final year studies.

To help you discover an area of study for the final year dissertation.

Nature of Placement:
The sandwich placement will be subject to a formal agreement between you, the employing organisation and UCL. This arrangement will confirm that the employing organisation will provide appropriate opportunities for you to experience the construction process. Your role is to be discussed and agreed with the Unit Tutor.
