Restrictions
This module is restricted to SSEES students on degrees with Russian, to SELCS students on BA Languages and Culture and BA Comparative Literature, and to students on BA EISPS. Students should have completed the Year 2 core module in Russian (SERS0018 or SERS0022). Students wishing to take Russian at upper intermediate/advanced level can take SERS0078 Russian D, which will require a placement test before a place can be confirmed.

  1. Use of Russian (Year 4) A (SERS0076)

Description

Use of Russian (Year 4) (2 contact hours per week) is designed to advance the Russian language skills of final-year students of Russian. Students will be presented with various opportunities to consolidate and improve their existing knowledge of the system of the Russian language (language analysis and manipulation) and to hone their Russian speaking and writing skills (production of Russian). Students taking the module will get to discuss, and express themselves on, a variety of topics relating to modern-day Russia, its history, culture, and current affairs. Materials for the module will be drawn from a wide range of contemporary authentic sources adequate for the study of Russian at advanced level.
