Description

The aim of this module is to develop the concepts of perioperative medicine encountered in SURG0041 and introduce you to theories and strategies in perioperative patient care in more detail. You will explore the underlying mechanisms of perioperative injury and insult, why it leads to morbidity and mortality and how to manage it. Additionally, you will learn about new outcome measures including Patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) as well as novel pathways in perioperative care such us enhanced-recovery programmes.
