Description
This research-led module provides the knowledge and tools to critically assess the impacts of resource access, use and management on different social groups in the Global South. You will develop a methodological grounding in qualitative and participatory research methods, as well as an understanding of the application and limitations of the policies, institutions and tools designed to promote better resource management.ÌýÌýThis module involves lots of discussion, and in small groups students also lead a seminar session.Ìý
Including the following contents but not limited to
- Social research methods.
- Rights to use resources.
- Case studies of potential and actual local-level impacts of resource extraction and use.
- Interplay between global governance and local realities.
