The report for the MBA must investigate a topic or issue that is relevant to business administration in the context of educational organisations or systems. There should also be a focus on the international perspective of the planned enquiry. A Report is worth 30 credits and is 8-10,000 words (excluding references and appendices).
• The report must be based on research, either empirical or theoretical
• It can be practice-oriented
• It can address professional or policy issues
• The dissertation provides the opportunity to explore an in-depth issue, with supervision
• It introduces students to the skills and techniques required for research and writing scholarly publications
• Dissertations are based on independent study supported by supervision
• The word length and therefore the scope of the study is normally the major difference between Dissertations and Reports.
