Description

This module aims to develop skills in both Comprehension and Use of Russian via reading and discussion of texts that are written in different styles and in different media. The emphasis will be on:

  1. learning to operate in different styles and registers and applying appropriate idiomatic language structures and vocabulary;
  2. increasing vocabulary in the range of lexical topics;
  3. sharpening grammatical awareness and competency
  4. developing speaking skills in debatingÌýand how to form a persuasive argument in Russian

This module is designed to accommodate students on Russian-language and other programmes who are

seeking to expand their competency in Russian via learning of vocabulary, grammar and syntax practiced through reading and discussing texts in different styles (media, scientific, and literary).
