Description

In this team-taught module, students will be introduced to the field of Publishing Studies. They will learn how researchers from various disciplines seek to understand how the publishing industry works, the core theoretical frameworks for understanding the business, and how academic research can influence the direction of the industry.

By the end of this module, students will be able to:

  1. explore the histories and contexts of book and publishing cultures.ÌýÌý
  2. discuss the key theories and concepts, which will provide a foundation for their Publishing MA studies.ÌýÌý
  3. investigate the 'book' through a sociological, political, legal, and cultural lens.ÌýÌý
  4. deploy secondary research techniques required to complete an MA dissertation.
