Description

You will receive one to one mentoring from experts who will supervise you to perform common neurosurgical procedures and skills in a variety of environments.ÌýÌýThe module consists of a workshop series followed by enhanced teaching activities (e.g. simulated patient or procedure) aimed to provideÌý exposure to core skills necessary for early-stage neurosurgical training. In addition, you will practice common neurosurgical scenarios with personalised feedback.

On successful completion of the module, you will be expected to:

• Demonstrate efficient history-taking and examination skills leading to accurate assessment, diagnosis and management

• Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrate good appreciation of 3D anatomy on micro, meso and macro scales

• Demonstrate safe and ergonomic technique when performing common neurosurgical approaches and procedures

• Identify and avoid common pitfalls by adhering to good surgical practice
