Description
This module provides an up to date overview of the aetiologies of diseases, infections and conditions affecting the ocular adnexa. It provides the opportunity to engage with clinical and research advancements in this area and develop your subspecialty knowledge and understanding of adnexal and orbital disorders, infections and conditions.
The module will incorporate the different tools and approaches that can be used in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as chalazion, thyroid eye disease, proptosis, orbital tumours and fractures, inflammatory orbital pseudotumours, orbital cellulitis, and blepharospasm.
You will learn the principles that guide decision making and diagnosis using the latest best practice guidelines for adnexal and orbital disorders, infections and conditions, as well as core skills including interpretation of relevant imaging and visual scans in the diagnostic process. The course also covers practical methods of management and explores the current evidence base supporting established and evolving medical and surgical treatments, including oculoplastics.
