Description
This module provides the opportunity to undertake a narrative review of published psychoanalytic literature on a specified topic with one-to-one supervision. You will be expected to identify a suitable area of research and formulate a research question appropriate to the discipline and project length, limiting its scope and justifying its significance. You will develop the skills to conduct a literature review that demonstrates awareness of existing knowledge on the topic; and, though critical engagement with its key texts and authors, develop an original line of argument. In addition to the one-to-one supervision, you will also have the opportunity to attend a number of workshops and seminars on research methodologies and other topics specific to the dissertation project. Please note that this is a compulsory module in the MSc Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies programme and is only open to students in this programme.
