Description
The MSc Neuroscience research project is the backbone of this research-intensive programme. You will be guided to choose a project in one of the 450 Neuroscience laboratories anywhere around UCL. The laboratories are generally well funded and the projects are independent and of publication quality. Your personal tutor will meet to discuss in what area you would like to do your project. A number of laboratories will be identified that may be available to host you. You will write to the group leader and organise a meeting to discuss possible projects. You should keep your personal tutor informed of progress. We normally expect projects to start within 5 weeks of the start of the year. You will be treated as a full member of the supervisor’s research group. You will be taught all the necessary skills required to plan, perform, analyse, display and write the research project. Full-time students are expected to work for two days per week in the laboratory until the end of March and then full time in the laboratory for the remainder of the course. Part-time students will be expected to work the same number of hours but by arrangement with the project supervisor.
