Description
Students on the MRes in Connected Electronic & Photonic Systems choose from a selection of research-based mini-projects, supervised by academics. The objectives of this are: to further enhance your knowledge of the subject area; to demonstrate your understanding of the subject at a higher level than is been possible during the taught part of the course; to demonstrate your ability to think originally and analytically about problems in your subject; to synthesise ideas from current literature; to demonstrate your ability to carry out research and solve problems independently; and to enhance your written and oral presentation skills.
Learning outcomes:
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research in a topic within the programme of study.
• Ability to communicate and critique your research both in writing (via the report) and orally (via a presentation).
