Description

The immense digital shift and the rising complexity are the underlying themes challenging major programme management practices. In this module, you will be introduced to the key systems theories and digital solutions used for major programme management while gaining a theoretically grounded understanding of how digitalisation, complexity and system integration are creating a shift in the management of major projects, programmes and portfolios. Through a mixture of self-study, workshops, seminars and industry speakers, you will develop your management abilities for complexity and digital management in major programmes, and learn how to research, justify, and analyse the factors that impact management of major programmes.

At the end of this module, you will be able to:

  1. Study theories and concepts of management of major programmes with digital as socio-technical systems.
  2. Demonstrate systems mindset and theoretical understanding of how to strategise and govern major and national programmes for a digital transformation.
  3. Discuss theoretical and practical aspects of the digital solutions, socio-technical systems, knowledge management, complexity, systems engineering and integration, and the importance of context and globalisation in the governance of mega-projects and major programmes in different sectors.
  4. Apply system dynamics modelling and social network analysis, system integration, and digital technologies for the analysis of major programmes.
  5. Apply the systematic literature review methods for analysing the programme management literature.
