The first core module ANTH0176 – which will run over the first term - will contain all the practical training for grade assessments on one piece of film work and one written text produced by the end of the first term.ÌýÌý
The module is designed to introduce the camera and editing skills necessary for producing film works in a context of critical enquiry about the social world.Ìý

Learning OutcomesÌý
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to:Ìý

Show an in-depth understanding of non-fiction filmmaking as a research-led practiceÌý

Develop research ideas into formally coherent moving image worksÌý

Show a detailed and practical understanding of editing techniques, and be able to set up coherent workflows which suit the particular demands of their film projectsÌý

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of visual language, and the accompanying camera skills to put that into practiceÌý

Reflect critically on their work and processes; demonstrate a critical awareness of how their work sits within the wider canon of non-fiction filmÌý
