Description
This module provides an introduction to clinical neurology for the iBSc students. The module will incorporate 19 online lectures including multimedia content. These can be paused and revisited to enhance learning. This provides an important background set of knowledge to prepare the students for history taking examination, differential diagnosis, investigation, and treatment planning.
The focus of this first module will be the clinical examination in neurology. Ultimately, the aim would be for students to be able to confidently carry out a neurological examination on neurology patients who may have signs to elicit in the examination.
Aims of the module:
- To understand the basis of clinical neurology and how this can be applied when assessing patients.
- To demonstrate examination skills in clinical neurology and interpret the results of the examination.

- To interpret: clinical history, examination, and investigations in clinical neurology
- To competently demonstrate practical neurology examination
