Pre-requisites: Students should have confidence with interpreting economics-related equations.
This module introduces students to the economics of international trade and discusses legal, political and governance structures concerning trade. In the specific case of commodities, this module analyses historical trends using a range of data sources and considers how governance structures and laws have shaped the international flows of commodities. You will be introduced to a range of theoretical models and will familiarise yourself with these models through targeted exercises discussed in class.
