There are no alternative credit options available for this module.
This module will introduce participants to strategic management using models from both private and public sector, as well as from higher education itself.
The module consists of 10 weekly sessions led by academic experts in higher education; research policy; strategic management; educational leadership; equality, diversity and inclusion; internationalisation and globalisation; sustainability; data science and artificial intelligence. The thematic sessions address how universities devise their strategies in order to respond to global challenges. Sociological and managerial perspectives are used to enhance critical thinking in lectures, group work, presentations, seminars and discussions. The assessment comprises a written assignment and an individual presentation in class.
