Description
Structuring and transforming data so that it provides meaningful information to heritage managers or the general public often requires skills to visually interpret, display and map data. Transformation of raw information requires an understanding of how data translates into heritage information, whether to reveal archaeological and architectural structures or art shapes and patterns. This requires an understanding of the specific material or engineering processes that are used to interpret data. This course will introduce the principles of effective data visualisation and information communication. Practical tools for engaging with data will also be covered. The role of these approaches within the heritage sector will be explored through several case studies.
