Description
This module will undertake a social science perspective on the management of different types of resources in different country contexts. The premise is that the area of management is rather in continuity with the leadership field: management has to be directed to the achievement of educational aims, rather than focused on procedures. At the same time, a concern with the practice of educational management and leadership has to be adequately balanced by the mastery of relevant organisational, sociological and educational theories. This module will propose a social science reading of educational institutions, with an emphasis on the relevance of:
- the context and system governance,
- he relations in the field, processes of negotiations and choice
- equity, adequacy and efficiency principles
- knowledge creation based on shared experience and the use of practitioners’ voicesÌý
