Module Content
The module aims to equip students with practical skills in conducting experimental linguistic research. An important goal of the course is for students to appreciate how knowledge is created in Experimental Linguistics. Students will apply their knowledge of experimental design and acquire core experimental techniques, and they will work in small groups to design small-scale psycholinguistics experiments, and to collect and analyse experimental data. The module will provide a foundation for further study in Linguistics, Cognitive Psychology, and other areas of Cognitive Science and Cognitive Neuroscience.
Teaching Delivery
1-hour lecture followed by a 2-hour lab session x 10 weeks.

Responsible conduct of scientific research; Reviewing the literature and developing a research question; Experimental design;ÌýCreating an experiment; Collecting data; Organising and processing data;ÌýVisualising and analysing data;Ìý Interpreting and reporting research findings.
