Description
‘Effective Research Practice’ is a module designed to equip you with the skills to work as a professional researcher within appropriate ethical and regulatory frameworks. The focus of the module will be on developing practical skills (written and presentation), learning how to identify and critically appraise research literature, and understanding legal and ethical obligations.
By the end of the module you will have improved a variety of skills and have improved your understanding on specific topics:
- Academic Writing Skills (including Referencing)
- Critical Appraisal Skills: Theory and Practice
- Writing Effective Grant Applications
- Delivering Effective Presentations
- Research Ethics (research governance and ethics including practical approach to obtaining ethics, as well as good clinical practice)
- Legal and Statutory Obligations in Health Psychology
This module is compulsory for all students enrolled on the MSc Health Psychology. Spaces are limited to 60.Ìý
Apart from attending lectures, you will also have the opportunity to practice an interview for a position in this field of research. Additionally, there will be a lecture specifically dedicated to careers perspectives.
