Description
Studying this module, you will develop and explore important appraisal techniques commonly used in practice by both the private and public client.
It is understood that the ultimate function of project management is to help project investors create value from a set project. A sound appraisal is therefore the key to ensuring a completed project would deliver value. To this end, the module equips you with the ability to apply up-to-date appraisal techniques in the evaluation of real-life projects, this will include net present value, Monte Carlo simulation method real option analysis.
On completion of the module, you must have achieved the following:
- Advanced skills in the application of the net present value (NPV) approach and in understanding its limitations
- Understanding of the Monte Carlo simulation method and its limitations
- Application of the Monte Carlo simulation method to the analysis of a real-life project
- Understanding and application of real option analysis of a real-life project
