Students will be introduced to the preclinical phases of drug development. Sessions will be held on choice of drug target, chemical approaches to developing therapeutic molecules, use of animal models, toxicology, first-into man studies, regulation/law. This module is designed to cover drug development up to the first clinical trial phases. Teaching will involve input from our industrial partner, GlaxoSmithKline.
