Students in the MSc Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology undertake a substantial research project in the field of applied infectious disease epidemiology under the supervision of a UCL academic. The project may cover the following dissertation types

  • learn how to critically appraise existing knowledge to define a research question.
  • learn how to apply the research methods and epidemiological skills they have learnt to tackle a specific problem and they will learn to implement a plan within a specific time scale.
  • learn to synthesise their findings and present them in a way that is appropriate to the audience.
