Description
The module is an introduction to Developmental Biology. It will cover basic principles of embryonic development, drawing from studies in model organisms. After taking this module you will be able to describe developmental processes from fertilization to organ development and function. You will learn about basic processes that underlie embryonic development, including, morphogenesis, cell fate specification, cell differentiation, cell migration and cell death and the role of genetic networks in these processes. You will discover how genetic mutations can lead to developmental abnormalities. You will learn about stem cell technologies and other cutting-edge approaches used to study developmental processes.
