Description

This module provide you with an opportunity for in-depth reading, reflection and critical discussion around key urban design and city planning themes and debates.

At the end of the module you should have developed:

• Knowledge of current literature on key issues in Urban Design and its context within City Planning;

• Critical thinking towards established theoretical and empirical arguments;

• Ability to understand, summarise and discuss key points of a complex argument;

• Research, analytical and writing skills necessary to explore academic sources of information and undertake critical and well-informed reviews of the literature on urban design topics.

This module is taught through a combination of small group debates, occasional lectures, and tutorials.
