Description

The purpose of this module is to provide technical and practical information to enable a good level of familiarity with medical devices typically found in a clinical environment. Characteristics of equipment such as engineering principles, medical purpose, user operation, maintenance, design appraisal, and common faults will be presented. Aims & Objectives To apply electronics and physics knowledge to both the design and use of a number of clinical medical devices To be able to understand the use of clinical medical devices from a number of key perspectives To be familiar enough with clinical medical devices to: - diagnose common equipment problems efficiently - prioritise clinical engineering activities - suggest improvements to existing equipment design
