Description

The Masters module in Biomaterials is multi-disciplinary. It provides students with a rich understanding of current biomaterials used in healthcare and biomedical sectors and recent research advances to improve these. The clinical application of these biomaterials will be demonstrated along with an in-depth description of materials structure and processing of biomaterials based on metals, polymer, ceramics, composites and bioactive materials. Students will also learn about biocompatibility, biomaterial characterization methods and clinical application of biomaterials. Regulatory and ethical standards related to the use of biomaterials will also be highlighted with the help of case studies.
