Description
Content: This module aims to develop Trainee SWP's understanding of the core features of Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD and associated conditions. They will acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, social models of disability and practice as well as well as the types of reasonable adjustments required in low intensity practice to meet the needs of this group.
Teaching delivery: Teaching days are a combination of both in-person and online sessions. Lectures and skills-based workshops form the core teaching, and these are developed further in Practice Tutor Groups (PTGs). Students are expected to video record their supervision sessions and share these as part of small group learning and reflective practice.

Module Aims and/or Objectives:
- Develop knowledge of Autism Spectrum Conditions, Learning Disabilities and ADHD
- Develop knowledge of different diagnosis and common co-morbidity/co-occurring conditions with ASC/LD/ ADHD
- Acquire knowledge of relevant legislation and context
- Acquire knowledge of social models of disability and practice
- Develop knowledge of routine adaptations to low intensity clinical practice that are supported by growing evidence base.
- Demonstrate skills in supporting CYP and their parents/carers with ASC/LD/ ADHD
