Description
Social psychology explores the individual, the social context of behaviour, and the relationship between the two. ThisÌýsecond yearÌýmodule builds on foundational first year modules in psychology, introducing students in greater depth to social psychology. It will encourage students to think in an interdisciplinary way by linking social psychology to other subject domains in psychology, and to the other social sciences (particularly sociology). Students will engage with key theories, methods, and concepts, as well as discussÌýnew developments and controversies in the field of social psychology. Examples of key topics covered include: the self and social identity, crowds and intergroup behaviour, social cognition and social perception, social constructionism, and social change (its antecedents, and its consequences).Ìý
