Description

Module Content

This module is an intermediate module on the study of meaning in natural language. It introduces logical concepts and their application in semantics and pragmatics, especially focusing on compositionality and quantification.

Teaching Delivery

This module is taught by 1 x 1.5 hour lecture and 1 x 1 hr tutorial per week.

Module Aims and/or Objectives

You will learnÌýlogical concepts and their application in semantics and pragmatics, especially focusing on compositionality and quantification. You will be introduced to Predicate Logic and Generalised Quantifier Theory, in particular.
