This module offers an intensive exploration of some central, on-going debates in philosophy of science. Topics include: scientific realism and antirealism; the nature of scientific explanation; and the status of laws of nature. Students also will consider applications to specific topics in current science. No pre-requisite philosophy of science knowledge required.
