Academic Writing Seminar Series
Watch the recording
Academic writing tutorials are often at the heart of academic writing centre provision. However, such tutorials are a relatively unexplored area of English for Academic Purposes (EAP)Ìýand academic literacies particularly within the UK higher education context.
In this seminar, Cathy will examine the potentially transformative role these tutorials play in facilitating students’ growth and development as writers within the academic community. She will highlight the scaffolding that takes place to facilitate this, drawing on research into the tutorial practices within the UCL Academic Communication Centre.
This online event will be particularly useful for those interested in writing development, academic writing support, EAP, and the politics of pedagogy.
