This event will be an interactive workshop for UCL colleagues from all disciplines and backgrounds to talk informally about how they approach music in their research. We hope to get a sense of the diversity of existing approaches among colleagues, and to begin building interdisciplinary connections.

A keynote talk from  (University of Bristol) will begin the day, followed by a mixture of small-group and plenary discussions. Lunch will be served.

11:30-11:45: Welcome
11:45-12:45: Session 1. Keynote lecture, Q&A. , Stanley Hugh Badock Chair of Music, University of Bristol
12:45-13:30: Lunch
13:30-14:20: Session 2. Small-group discussions: different approaches to music and interdisciplinary conversations
14:20-14:40: Break
14:40-15:15: Session 3.  Small-group discussions: developing interdisciplinarity
15:30-16:00: Session 4:  Whole-group discussion and preliminary planning for future network/outputs. Led by project organisers
