Objective 4

Establish a healthy behaviour culture across UCL.

Objective 4Ìýis to establish a healthy behaviour culture across UCL,Ìýbuilding on the UCL Ways of Working to include lifestyle, safety, sustainability, bullying and harassment and compassionate behaviour.

Co-creating a shared understanding of healthy behaviour building on the UCL Ways of Working to include lifestyle, safety, sustainability, bullying and harassment and compassionate behaviour. ÌýEnabling workplace supports and guidance to help staff maintain good health and wellbeing and develop healthy habits. ÌýSupporting others and challenging behaviour safely.

Actions:

a)ÌýÌý ÌýRun a focus group of representatives including leads from Workplace Health, Safety Services, Sustainability, EDI, Behaviour Science Health and Centre for Behaviour Change to create a shared understanding of healthy behaviour at 911±¬ÁÏÍø. Ìý

b)ÌýÌý ÌýRaise awareness of Departmental Safety Officer (DSO) role, developing their awareness of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace

c)ÌýÌý ÌýDevelop a plan to identify the volunteer networks across UCL and offer them development in mental health and wellbeing awareness

d)ÌýÌý ÌýDevelop guidance on safely challenging poor behaviour utilising the UCL Ways of Working

e)ÌýÌý ÌýIdentify opportunities to raise awareness of supports and resources including the, Dignity Advisors and UCL Ways of Working

f)ÌýÌý ÌýCreate ‘supporting the supporter’ (those in volunteer roles) behaviour guidance to maintaining boundaries

Measuring Success:

  1. Understanding and definition of healthy behaviour shared and agreed with members of SMT
  2. Map created of volunteer roles and responsibilities across the staff community
  3. Mental health and Awareness online module created for volunteer roles
  4. Guidance shared on challenging Ìýpoor behaviourÌý
  5. Guidance shared on supporting the supporter in maintaining boundaries
