UCL-IISc Strategic Partner Fund 2021/22 recipients
20 April 2022
UCL and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) academics will launch five projects following the first joint funding call from the two institutions
In the first joint seed funding call from UCL and IISc, five projects have been awarded up to £8,000 each.
The funds, jointly contributed by UCL and IISc, and will be used galvanise research groups from both sides to work on proof-of-concept ideas, generate data and apply for larger grants to international funding agencies.Â
The projects, many of them led by early- and mid-career researchers, will explore areas such as liver tissue engineering, low phytic acid plants, and peri urban public spaces in Bangalore.
Two of the funding recipients, Dr Darren Player & Dr Alvena Kureshi (UCL Medical Sciences), said: 'We are delighted to have been awarded a UCL-IISc Strategic Partner Funds award, to develop a collaborative project in liver tissue engineering. This is an exciting project which will provide an opportunity to develop this area of research within the Centre for 3D Models of Health and Disease. We are also looking forward to sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues at IISc and are hoping to visit in June this year'.Â
Congratulations to all the UCL-IISc Strategic Partner Fund 2021/22 recipients:
