About the masterclass:

Both the current European Parliament and the current European Commission are coming to the end ofÌýtheir terms in June and October 2024, respectively.

As they finalise their legacies, we are alsoÌýlooking ahead towards what the priorities for the next 5 years will be. This masterclass exploresÌýhow Europe’s next agenda is formed, with a particular focus on climate policy, in the context of multiple crises and aÌýrapidly shifting geopolitical landscape.

You will get an overview of agenda setting in the EU and the political rhythmÌýof theÌýupcoming changes. You will find out how agenda setting works in the field of climate policy works in practice. In an interactive exercise you will simulate how different actors engageÌýwith policymakers in an effort to shape the EU’s new agenda. There will also be time for a Q&A on careers in European policy.

Krisztina Zálnoky

Krisztina ZálnokyÌýis Senior Research Project Manager in the Europe office of theÌýCambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Prior to joining CISL, Krisztina worked at the Education, Audiovisual andÌýCulture Executive Agency of thÌýEuropean Commission and completed internships at the UNICEFÌýHungarian Committee and the U.S. Commercial Service in Hungary. She gained experience in theÌýprivate sector, working as an analyst at KPMG on projects related to the Common Agricultural Policy.ÌýKrisztina studied International Relations with a specialisation in European integration at CorvinusÌýUniversity Budapest and holds an MSc in Public Policy from University College London. Her masterÌýdissertation focused on the impact of the 2008-2009 financial crisis on democracy support in CentralÌýand Eastern Europe. Krisztina is the Impact Officer of the Global Shapers Brussels Hub.
