The
materials used in electrochemical devices are key to their performance and longevity. These include electrodes,
catalysts, membranes and casings. We have a large activity dedicated to the
discovery and manufacture of advanced materials such as nanomaterials for
batteries and fuel cells and the membranes used as electrolytes in a range of
technologies. The EIL is closely linked to the Clean Materials Technology Group
in the Department of Chemistry and the UCL Centre for Materials Research.
