The world is full of problems, but it鈥檚 also full of brilliant people, chipping away at those problems with their ideas and expertise.
Focus on the Positive ran from 2012-2017 and gave public groups the听chance to choose how to improve the world. At the events, some of UCL鈥檚 inspiring researchers shared听exactly how they want to tackle the Big Issues in our world. The audience then had听a chance to mingle and debate the issues before voting on what they wanted听to support right there on the spot. The winning researcher got听拢2,000 to spend on the idea that they听proposed. A runner-up also received 拢1,000 to take their project forward.
It鈥檚 was听great opportunity to debate some big questions, meet people who are passionate about changing the world for the better, and make a difference!
Focus on the positive was听organised by the听UCL Public Engagement Unit听and has been supported by听the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Wellcome Trust.听
