British Myology Society

The British Myology Society (BMS) is a multidisciplinary professional body of experts founded in 2009. It aims to promote clinical practice, education and clinical trials in relation to muscle disease, myasthenia gravis and spinal muscular atrophy. It is intended to be a forum of consultants, junior doctors and allied health professionals, with professional expertise in myology,Ìý to consider these issues.

The British Myology Society has current membership of around 140 and runs a number of very successful meetings / conferences, both physically and online, for members and also some events for non-members.

The British Myology Society Website is currently undergoing redesign.

Events run by the British Myology Society in the meantime will be circulated to the BMS mailing list, and promoted on X (formerly Twitter).

The BMS is registered with the Charity Commission (registration number 1142966).

16th-17th September, Worcester College, Oxford

The BMS Annual Meeting is a 2 day event which attracts the country’s foremost neuromuscular clinicians and allied professionals; and is aimed (as in previous years) at education of neuromuscular specialists and sharing the latest knowledge and developments in this area of practice.
