'Thinking Cities: Debating just development in the Global South' - new DPU podcast series launched

The DPU have launched a new podcast series titled 'Thinking Cities: Debating just development in the Global South', with each episode relating to a different thematic area of the DPU's work

Each of the initially twelve episodes of the new series will draw on the specific thematic areas as a lens to explore theÌýDPU's central intended aim to promoteÌýsocially just and sustainable development in the Global South.Ìý

Hosted by GTA's Alessio Koliulis (MSc Urban Economic Development) and Lilian Schofield (MSc Development Administration & Planning), each episodes will feature a minimum of two of DPU's core academic staffÌýwho will engage in conversation based around a set structure. The episodesÌýaimÌýto i) justify and unpack the theme of the episode, ii) explore the framing of thinking and theÌýkey debates within that field and iii) consider the DPU's past, present and future role in contributing to these debates through research, teaching and capacity building.

The first episode launched is on 'Mobility', and features Prof Julio Davila and Dr Daniel Oviedo Hernandez in conversation withÌýLilian Schofield. The episode focusses on the challenges of transport planning in cities of the Global South, drawing from their own work in the field.
