Institute for the Physics of Living Systems

Tackling the deepest problems in Biology.

The Institute for the Physics of Living Systems (IPLS) brings together researchers from across UCL departments and disciplines in the pursuit of a set of common research goals. Working together, the IPLS community applies thinking, tools and approaches from the physical sciences and engineering to address important problems in biology across a range of themes from the physics of cancer, time, to states of living matter. In addition, to help nurture the next generation of research scientists, IPLS also provides training and community-building activities at the PhD and Post-doctoral level.Ìý
