The first will be a Biosciences Information Session on Wednesday 31 October, designed to give mature students (over 21 when entering university) a taste of life at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, as well as providing them with all the information necessary for applying to Biosciences. This will include various 'student support' services to provide attendees with information about student finance, accommodation and other areas of support.

The second event will be a series of six Mature Student Masterclasses, each focused on a different subject, taking place between 5 and 16 November. The six subjects featured are Earth Sciences, Engineering, English, Laws, History and Physics. These sessions will be delivered primarily by UCL academics, and are designed to offer a taste of how the subject is taught at degree level. Information on entry requirements, and a broader description of the subject, will also be provided.

Amber Cuttill (UCL Outreach Office) said: "UCL is excited about our new initiatives to attract mature students, as we feel that studying at university should be possible regardless of age. We hope that the new events we are piloting this year will encourage prospective mature students to apply to UCL, and help them to get an idea of what university life is like."
