Former student named to international advisory board
2 May 2007
Victor L L Chu (UCL Laws 1979) has been named as a founding member of the International Advisory Board of the Atlantic Council of the United States (ACUS).
Other founding members include CEOs or chairmen of Bertelsmann, EADS, Lockheed Martin, Lucent-Alcatel, Novartis, Pearson, the Royal Bank of Scotland, SAS and WPP, and such political figures as former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, former US National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, former US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers and former Secretary General of NATO Lord Robertson. The board will be chaired by Brent Scowcroft, former US National Security Adviser.
Mr Kempe said: "This group was founded in large part because we believed leading global business executives' voices weren't being heard sufficiently in Washington, though they often have the most at stake and the greatest on-the-ground experience. By putting them together with some of the world's leading political figures, we hope to draw perspectives and inspiration for our future work."
