Enterprise courses offered
26 January 2004
Applications are invited from UCL staff and postgraduate students for sponsored places on courses at the London Business School.
These courses offer members of UCL the opportunity to acquire or enhance business-related skills while working alongside MBA students at LBS.
Over 100 UCL participants from various departments have so far taken a range of electives and, although few of them had any previous business experience, the majority have achieved outstanding results.
Places will be available for LBS courses including 'Understanding Entrepreneurial Management', 'New Venture Development' and 'Managing the Growing Business'.
Places are awarded to those applicants who demonstrate an aptitude for and interest in: the commercialisation of research; working collaboratively with business on research projects; or teaching enterprise skills within their department.
Amongst those taking courses have been heads of departments, lecturers, researchers
scientists, and PHD/EngD students. Feedback from participants and the MBA students
they worked alongside has been favourable. One applicant described the course
as, "a very positive experience", and recommended the course to
anyone with an interest in business.
