Description

Summary

The module consists of a laboratory research project conducted in one of the relevant laboratories you will select from the project portfolio. You are expected to work full time in the laboratory or on a computational project agreed with the supervisor during the third term. The aim of this module is to carry out novel research using a variety of different methodologies to try to answer clearly defined question(s) in the field of cell and gene therapy or personalised medicine and write it up clearly, concisely and critically in the form of a scientific report.Ìý

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

After successfully completing this module, you should acquire:

  1. Significant knowledge of research methods
  2. Understanding of experimental design, including the value of appropriate controls
  3. The ability to work well within a team
  4. The skills to effectively present research data orally and in writing

Who is this module for?

This is a compulsory module for all MSc Cell and Gene Therapy students and MSc Personalised Medicine and Novel Therapies.

Teaching and Learning Methods

This module consists of 12 weeks of laboratory study plus 4 weeks of writing up.
